Stallion Services Management
Whether you're standing one stallion or managing a multi-stallion operation, the business side requires organization. Bookings, approvals, payments, contracts, shipping coordination, and success tracking all need to work together.
BreederHQ handles the business operations so you can focus on producing quality foals.
The complexity of stallion services
Standing a stallion means running a business:
- • Booking management - Inquiries, approvals, contracts, deposits, and confirmations for each mare.
- • Mare quality control - Reviewing health testing, pedigrees, and photos before approving mares.
- • Financial tracking - Stud fees, booking fees, chute fees, collection fees-and knowing who has paid.
- • Guarantee management - Different guarantee types with different rebred rights and financial implications.
- • Success tracking - Conception rates, live foal rates, and building the stallion's reputation with data.
- • Marketing - Getting your stallion in front of mare owners looking for the right match.
Spreadsheets and paper files don't scale when you're managing dozens of bookings across multiple stallions.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I limit breeding slots per season?
Yes. Set a maximum number of bookings per season for each stallion. The system tracks available vs. booked slots and can show "slots remaining" on marketplace listings.
How does revenue tracking work?
The revenue dashboard shows total income per stallion, broken down by stud fees, booking fees, and other charges. See revenue by season, by mare owner, or across your entire stud operation. Outstanding balances are highlighted.
Can I track different breeding guarantee types?
Yes. Common guarantee types include Live Foal, Stands and Nurses, 60-Day Pregnancy, and Certified Pregnant. Each booking can specify the guarantee type, which affects rebred rights and financial tracking.
How do I manage mare approvals?
When a mare owner requests a booking, you can review the mare's information (health testing, pedigree, photos) before approving. The system tracks approved, pending, and declined mares per stallion.
Can I track outside mare owners as contacts?
Yes. Mare owners are contacts in your system with full communication history, documents, and financial records. When they book again, all history is available.
Does it integrate with the marketplace?
Yes. Stallion listings on the BreederHQ marketplace pull from your stallion's profile, including stud fee, available slots, AI availability, health testing, and pedigree. Inquiries flow directly into your client management system.
