What This Category Covers

Five subtypes spanning self-service, pro rental, and species-specific wash facilities.

  • Self-wash: coin-op or membership self-wash stations for dog owners
  • Pro grooming bay rental: fully equipped bay for traveling or independent groomers
  • Dog wash: dedicated dog wash facilities (single or multi-tub)
  • Livestock wash rack: show-prep wash racks for goats, sheep, cattle, swine
  • Equine wash rack: hot/cold wash stalls with cross-ties for hauled-in clients

How to Browse on the Marketplace

Filters that matter for finding the right wash space:

  • Subtype. Self-wash and pro grooming bay rental are different worlds. Filter first.
  • Species. Dog, equine, livestock: different drains, different equipment, different heights.
  • Equipment included. Hot water, restraints, dryers, raised tubs, grooming tables. Listings spell out what's included vs. BYO.
  • Hours and availability. Many self-wash stations operate 24/7 with member access. Pro bays book by appointment.

What to Look For Before You Book

  • Hot water and water pressure. Photos and details confirm the basics. Cold-water-only wash stations are common in equine facilities; for dogs, hot water is non-negotiable.
  • Restraints and safety. Cross-ties for horses, dog wash leashes/loops for dogs, restraint chutes for livestock. Listings show what restraint is provided.
  • Drying setup. High-velocity dryers, stand dryers, or heat lamps. Critical for show prep; nice-to-have for casual bathing.
  • Drainage and floor finish. Properly drained, non-slip floor. Photos showing actual floor (not just the tub) tell you what to expect.
  • Cleaning between bookings. Self-wash stations should have clear cleaning protocol; pro bays should be turned over with disinfection between clients.
  • Products supplied vs. BYO. Some hosts supply shampoo; most pro bays expect groomers to bring their own product. Confirm in the listing.
