What the indicators on a breeder profile mean

Identity confirmation

"Identity confirmed via Stripe Identity" means Stripe (not BreederHQ) confirmed the breeder's government-issued ID matched the legal name on file. BreederHQ does not perform the verification itself.

Registry passthrough

"Confirmed via ARI registry" means BreederHQ queried the Alpaca Registry, Inc. database and found a matching record. Click the source link to verify current registration status directly with ARI.

Breeder's own attestation

Fiber test results, EPDs, BVD/PI testing, and health records are the breeder's own attestation. BreederHQ does not open, read, or vouch for uploaded documents. Request original lab reports and verify with the testing provider.

What you can see on an alpaca breeder profile

  • ARI registration and pedigrees: registration numbers and documented sire and dam records — not just "registered" as a claim in an ad.
  • EPDs and fiber analysis: Estimated Progeny Differences for fiber traits (where published) alongside independent micron, SD, CF, and staple length data from labs like Yocom-McColl or OFDA testing.
  • Show history and AOA results: AOBA ribbon history, National Alpaca Show placements, and judge evaluation notes when the breeder chooses to publish them.
  • Health documentation: BVD/PI testing status, Johne's disease records, CDT vaccination history, and herd biosecurity protocols.
  • Cria and offspring history: past offspring records, fiber performance over multiple shearings, and breeding history.
  • Program type and goals: whether the program breeds for elite fiber genetics, the show ring, companion placement, or a combination.
