How to Browse on the Marketplace
Filters that matter for finding the right facility:
- Species. Cattle, sheep, goat, alpaca, llama. Equipment sizing differs significantly between species; a cattle chute doesn't safely handle goats.
- Subtype. Handling alley vs. squeeze chute vs. AI space: different work needs different infrastructure.
- Capacity. Per session, per head, or per day. Filter to facilities that can handle your herd size.
- Trailer access. Working livestock facilities need wide gates, gravel turnaround, and rig-friendly access.
What to Look For Before You Book
- Equipment condition. Working chutes, headgates, and sorting alleys take heavy wear. Photos of actual current condition matter more than brand name.
- Species and size compatibility. A chute set up for full-size beef cattle is dangerous for goats and sheep. Confirm species fit explicitly.
- Biosecurity. Disinfection between herds matters for any shared working facility. Disease transmission through unsanitized equipment is real.
- Veterinarian and AI tech access. Many AI/repro spaces are designed around a specific service provider's workflow. Confirm whether you bring your own tech or use theirs.
- Pasture quality and stocking rate. For pasture rental, confirm forage quality, water access, fencing condition, and reasonable stocking-rate expectations.
- Insurance and waiver. Working livestock is high-risk. Read the waiver and confirm your own insurance covers off-site work.
